CHA Green Team

The students and Ms. Conrad have been working hard adding soil fertilizers, compost, and new plants to the garden.  The students have been tasting peas and lettuce when they are in the garden, weeding, and watering.

Message from Head of School - May 10th 2013

Today, Chestnut Hill Academy’s student body had the privilege of being an audience to the Middle School Band performance.  Middle School students began playing wind and percussion instruments for the first time in September.  Their first performance occurred at the Festival of Peace and Light and since then they’ve been practicing for today’s performance.  I’d like to thank Mr. Franklin for giving our students this wonderful opportunity and for hosting a terrific assembly.

Scones with Senaga: Please join me for Scones with Senaga on Wednesday, May 22nd from 8:30-9:30.  I’ll share the Parent Survey Results that I presented at the CHAPTER Meeting and look forward to discussing the State of CHA.

Science Fair: Please join us for the Science Fair and Invention Convention Thursday, May 23rd from 6-7:30.  The Invention convention will take place on the 1st floor for 2nd Grade and the Science Fair will take place on the 3rd floor for grades 3rd-7th.  The students have spent an enormous amount of time investigating their projects and creating their presentations that shares the knowledge that they’ve gained from their experiments.  A shuttle service will be provided from the Eastgate Park & Ride on May 23rd from 5:45-7:45.  Mr. Joe will pick families up starting at 5:45 and continue to make shuttle runs every 15 minutes with the last shuttle leaving at 7:45.  Please sign up at the front desk to participate.  Parking will be limited so riding the shuttle will alleviate trying to find parking at CHA.

Professional Development: If you haven’t had a chance to sign up for child care on May 24th, please do so by Tuesday at the front desk.  There is no school on Friday due to Professional Development training.  If your child is participating in child care, it is a free dress day.

Dennis Uniforms: I am pleased to announce Dennis’ biggest sale this year! You can get 15% savings on all online purchases May 24th, 25th & 26th.   Dennis will also be at CHA on July 10th from 3-6 for you to try on uniforms for proper sizing and order them for next year.
