Overview of Chestnut Hill Academy
Chestnut Hill Academy is a private, coeducational day school recognized for providing an exceptional learning environment that emphasizes high academic standards, a low student-to-teacher ratio, and a wide array of meaningful enrichment activities. The school caters for kindergarten through eighth grade.
Our students typically matriculate to leading private secondary schools including The Bush School, Eastside Preparatory School, Forest Ridge, Lakeside, Overlake, Seattle Academy, and University Preparatory, as well as the local public schools. Our progressive academic curriculum provides a wealth of learning opportunities supplemented by experiential field trips and service learning projects to help children reach their full potential. The Academy’s curriculum develops a broad foundation of knowledge and mastery of skills so that children become competent and confident learners as well as productive, responsible, and ethical members of today’s world.

School HoursOur school year is divided into three trimesters, starting in September and ending in June. The academic day runs differently by grades:
Extended DayChestnut Hill Academy understands and appreciates the needs of working parents who may need additional supervised care for their children before and after school. Our Extended Day program begins at 7:00 a.m. and continues after school from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Dress Code and UniformsChestnut Hill Academy students wear uniforms that promote general harmony and convenience for everyone. There are a variety of uniform options available that can be purchased from the Dennis Uniform Company located in Tukwila or through the Lands’ End catalog. Summer CampEach summer, Chestnut Hill Academy opens its doors to the community and offers an enriched and exciting summer day camp program, Camp Explorations, for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
