Enrichment

Chestnut Hill Academy is very proud of its enrichment program. We offer specialist classes in art, journalism, library science, music, physical education, Spanish and technology during the day. Students participate in a musical production each year where they learn about public speaking, team work, and performing in front of an audience. Our middle school participates in a band where they play music at different events throughout the year. We also have a wonderful Art Walk that showcases the students’ art throughout the year.

Middle School students take an exploratory class each trimester. These classes range from photography through composing and composting to forensic science and change each trimester.

Chestnut Hill Academy also has a very active Student Council. Student Council is a group of students who organize a variety of activities during the year, present student concerns to school leadership, and plan and implement Service Learning Projects. Each fall, an election is held to give students the opportunity to run for a position on Student Council. Student Council students display an outstanding character and obtain strong leadership potential.

At Chestnut Hill Academy we believe in hands-on and real world experiences. Whenever possible we pair our academic curriculum with field trips and guest speakers to bring these experiences to life. Each grade level has special field trips they go on each year. For example, our second and third grade classes go to Pioneer Farms to build upon their Native Americans and Pioneers units. Some field trips change from year to year with new and exciting offerings. We also have a variety of guest speakers throughout the year.
